ATC conceived it to drive its own small and medium passive loudspeakers, as well as a broad choice of loudspeakers by other makers. The sober styling eases its pairing with other components and the small footprint asks for little room at home; the ATC CD2 CD player is its natural match.

The output stage uses discrete MOSFETs and delivers 100 W per channel. The converter is a 32 bit AKM, served by three digital inputs: USB, coaxial and optical TOSLINK. The USB port accepts PCM up to 384 kHz and native DSD up to DSD256 from Windows or Linux computers, up to DSD128 from a Mac. There are also two analogue line inputs, a pre output and a headphone amplifier with a discrete output stage. The unit is made by hand in England.

Technical features

Power: 100 W continuous per channel into 8 Ohm, at 0.1% distortion with the two channels working

Frequency response: from below 2 Hz to above 250 kHz (-3 dB)

Signal-to-noise ratio: above 112 dB (IEC A); crosstalk beyond 90 dB between 10 Hz and 20 kHz

Analogue inputs: two RCA stereo line pairs; sensitivity 500 mV

Digital inputs: optical TOSLINK up to 24 bit / 96 kHz, coaxial up to 24 bit / 192 kHz, USB up to 32 bit / 384 kHz

Outputs: one preamplified RCA pair and one 6.35 mm headphone jack socket

Size: height 113 mm, width 315 mm, depth 342 mm, binding posts included

Weight: 9 kg
