An ordinary earth lead solves the first problem but often worsens the second; here the captured interference is drained away instead of entering the system.

Where it is used

The most frequent use is grounding a turntable: placed alongside nearly all analogue interconnects, it lets you assemble a low-noise phono cable. The same wire links ground boxes, the earth of a wall socket and other grounding points of an audio/video system, helping to avoid the hum and interference that ground loops cause.

Conductor and terminations

The conductor is Long-Grain Copper with 6% silver plating: the silver layer makes RF noise dissipation more effective. The metal is Direction-Controlled, meaning it is fitted in the direction that correctly discharges induced interference. At each end, #10 spade lugs with direct silver plating are cold-welded to the conductor and complete the drainage path.

Carbon RF-Trap

Around the conductor sits a Carbon RF-Trap made from conductive PVC, which helps to dissipate radio-frequency noise. The intended effect is a quieter background, from which the dynamic contrasts and tonal colours of music stand out more clearly.

Key features

Long-Grain Copper conductor with 6% silver, Direction-Controlled

#10 spade lugs with direct silver plating, cold-welded

Carbon RF-Trap in conductive PVC

Lengths: 0.75 m, 1.5 m, 2.25 m, 3 m and 5 m

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0615/5278/7645/files/audioquest-black-hole-groundgoody-front-gajpd.jpg?v=1791293369
