nordost-heimdall-2-cavo-per-diffusori
Nordost Heimdall 2 Speaker Cable

Nordost Heimdall 2: speaker cable with Micro Mono-Filament technology

Heimdall 2 is the speaker cable that opens the Norse 2 series. Compared with the Leif models it adds the proprietary Micro Mono-Filament construction: a thin filament keeps the conductor suspended inside the insulation, so that the metal is surrounded mostly by air, the most favourable dielectric.

The conductors are solid-core OFC plated in silver, enclosed in a flat ribbon of extruded FEP. The outcome is a structure controlled both electrically and mechanically, designed to carry the signal from amplifier to speakers quickly and with reduced losses. Using the same technologies and materials throughout the Norse 2 series makes it possible to wire the system in a coherent way.

Technical features

Conductors: 18 solid-core wires of 22 AWG

Material: OFC copper, 99.99999% pure, plated in silver

Insulation: FEP (fluorinated ethylene propylene)

Micro Mono-Filament construction with mechanically tuned spacing and length

Capacitance: 9.8 pF per foot

Inductance: 0.14 μH per foot

Speed of propagation: 96% of the speed of light

Gold-plated connectors: Z-plug banana or spade

Available versions

Heimdall 2 is sold as a pair, in a mono wiring configuration, in lengths of 2 m, 2.5 m, 3 m and 4 m, with banana or spade termination.
