nordost-tyr-2-cavo-di-alimentazione
Nordost Tyr 2 Power Cord

Nordost Tyr 2: power cord with Dual Mono-Filament technology

Tyr 2 is the power cord that brings the Norse 2 series close to the Reference line: it draws on the research carried out for Valhalla 2 and adopts its Dual Mono-Filament technology. The seven 16 AWG conductors, solid-core in silver-plated OFC copper, avoid hot spots, carbonisation and interaction between strands, and match the materials of Norse 2 interconnects and loudspeaker cables.

Insulation is extruded FEP, a material that loses little signal and is thermally efficient; combined with the Dual Mono-Filament construction and with low cable resistance, it keeps power losses minimal. Lengths are mechanically tuned, a technique that lowers internal microphony and impedance resonances at high frequencies.

Technical features

Conductors: seven, 16 AWG each

Material: solid-core OFC copper, 99.99999% pure, plated in silver

FEP (fluorinated ethylene propylene) insulation

Dual Mono-Filament construction with mechanically tuned lay and length

DC resistance: 1.33 Ohm for every 1000 feet

Propagation velocity of 91%

IEC-C15 or IEC-C19 on the equipment side, with figure-8 IEC-C7 as an alternative

Available with Schuko or Italian plug: please specify your choice in the order notes.

Available versions

The cable is available in lengths of 1 m, 2 m and 3 m.
