nordost-valhalla-2-cavo-digitale
Nordost Valhalla 2 Digital Cable

Nordost Valhalla 2: 75 Ohm and 110 Ohm AES/EBU digital cable

Valhalla 2 Digital is the digital cable of the Reference line, offered at 75 Ohm and at 110 Ohm. Digital signals call for very precise transmission and termination standards. Dual Mono-Filament construction mechanically damps the solid-core conductors in silver-plated copper and cuts contact with the dielectric by more than 85%.

For exact impedance matching the cable has a double layer of silver-plated shielding. The 75 Ohm version carries HOLO:PLUG BNC connectors with gold plating and comes with RCA adapters, also gold-plated; the 110 Ohm version carries HOLO:PLUG XLR connectors with gold plating. The connectors are designed to keep impedance constant along the whole cable.

Technical features

Conductors: 1 of 16 AWG (75 Ohm) or 2 of 18 AWG (110 Ohm)

Material: 99.999999% pure OFC copper, plated in silver, solid core

Insulation: high-purity extruded FEP, class 1.1

Construction: Dual Mono-Filament, coaxial (75 Ohm) or twinaxial (110 Ohm)

Capacitance: 15.3 pF/ft (75 Ohm), 10.5 pF/ft (110 Ohm)

Propagation velocity: 89%

Shielding: 98%, over two silver-plated layers

Termination: gold-plated HOLO:PLUG BNC with RCA adapter, or gold-plated HOLO:PLUG XLR

Available versions

The cable is available with 75 Ohm BNC/RCA termination or 110 Ohm XLR termination, in lengths of 1.25 m, 2 m and 3 m.
