The T2 W is a belt-drive turntable with Wi-Fi transmission built in: it sends the signal from the record to streamers, networked AV receivers and connected loudspeakers. It has a 9-inch aluminium arm, Sumiko Rainier cartridge and MM phono stage.
T2 W: vinyl on the network
The T2 W sends the record over the network via 2.4 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi with 2x2 MIMO, which keeps the link stable. Streaming can use a compressed format, which gives the widest compatibility, or run lossless at 24-bit/48 kHz to streamers that support it, such as Pro-Ject's own Stream Box S2 Ultra. The system is multiroom: one record can reach several devices at once.
Setup is done in the Pro-Ject Control app, which uses Bluetooth Low Energy to get the turntable onto the home network. The app is where you choose the destination device; afterwards the Stream Control key on the turntable's flank is enough to resume sending to the last unit selected. To feed the stream, Pro-Ject gave the T2 W a two-stage MM phono preamplifier with split passive equalisation.
The analogue side is that of the T2 series: a solid CNC-machined plinth, a 1.7 kg glass platter with felt mat, belt drive and a side-mounted rocker to go from 33 to 45 rpm. The 9-inch aluminium arm is a single piece and runs on low-friction bearings; it carries a Sumiko Rainier MM hand-built in Japan, with adjustable spring anti-skating. RCA outputs remain available, and the matching lead is supplied.
