Alessandro Quarta's violin meets the tango nuevo of Astor Piazzolla.
Plays Piazzolla: the album
Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla is regarded as the father of tango nuevo: he was first to blend tango with classical writing. Southern Italian violinist Alessandro Quarta approaches this repertoire with a virtuosity that never places the performer ahead of the music.
The production is by IAN Productions, the team of Stefan Bock, Tobias Wendl and Stefan Zaradic, who capture sound events in three dimensions. This edition dates from 2018.
