Class G and dynamic reserve
Class G combines the first 20 W of Class A operation with additional supply rails when power demand rises. With all seven channels driven, PA720 delivers 100 W per channel into 8 ohms and 140 W into 4 ohms while retaining the same amplifier topology across the entire system.
Construction and power supply

Each channel can use either RCA or balanced XLR input, making PA720 suitable for processors with single-ended outputs as well as models such as AV41 with balanced connections. Ethernet and RS232 also provide control and integration for equipment racks or automated cinema rooms.

Arcam specifies 433 x 177 x 425 mm and a net weight of 18 kg, matching the distributor figures. It is therefore a full-size power amplifier intended for permanent installations, with transformer and chassis mass consistent with a dedicated multichannel power section.
