Primare I35 DAC: 150 W per channel stereo integrated amplifier with D/A converter
I35 DAC is the I35 integrated amplifier with the DM36 conversion module already installed. It keeps the 150 W per channel and the balanced inputs of the base version and sets beside them a digital section with optical, coaxial and USB-B inputs, which I35 does not have. The difference from I35 Prisma lies in networking: here the SM35 Prisma network module is not fitted, but the modular build lets it be added further on.
The amplification technology is UFPD 2, Primare's fully analogue Class D, described by the manufacturer as linear throughout the audible band. The DM36 module is built around the ESS ES9068A converter: it converts PCM signals up to 384 kHz / 32 bit and DSD up to DSD 256, includes upsampling options and handles MQA files.
Key features
- Power: 150 W per channel into 8 ohms, 300 W per channel into 4 ohms
- UFPD 2 analogue Class D amplification
- DM36 module on board with ESS ES9068A converter
- PCM conversion up to 384 kHz / 32 bit and DSD up to DSD 256, with MQA processing
- Analogue inputs: two balanced XLR and three RCA
- Seven digital inputs: four optical Toslink, two coaxial, one USB-B
- Ready for the SM35 Prisma network module
Connections
The analogue side comprises two stereo XLR inputs, three stereo RCA inputs and two stereo RCA outputs, one line-level and one preamplifier. The DM36 module adds four optical Toslink inputs, two coaxial ones, one USB-B input and a coaxial digital output. The equipment is completed by IR in and out on 3.5 mm jacks, a 12 V trigger output on a 3.5 mm jack, the RS232 port for external control systems and the C25 remote.
