Fully balanced signal path and toroidal power for analogue Hi-Fi
A-S2200 is a Yamaha integrated amplifier with fully balanced circuitry, a toroidal transformer, low-impedance construction and mechanical isolation.
The model combines a symmetrical analogue path with a 90 W + 90 W into 8 ohms power section. The large toroidal transformer, heavy-gauge ground wiring and rigid mounting of the main components are designed to keep delivery stable, while level meters and brass feet recall Yamaha Hi-Fi tradition.

Fully balanced circuit
A-S2200 maintains a balanced structure from the input connector through to the output stage driving the speakers. Symmetry between the two branches reduces the influence of common-mode noise and keeps the working conditions of the push-pull circuit equivalent, preserving stereo separation and dynamic control throughout the analogue chain.
Toroidal transformer
The 625 VA toroidal transformer supplies the output stage and provides the reserve required for the rated 90 W + 90 W into 8 ohms and 150 W + 150 W into 4 ohms. Transformer selection is matched to the internal layout and power-supply capacitors, so rated power alone does not define the amplifier's behaviour.
Low impedance
Thick ground wiring and direct connections reduce parasitic resistance between the power supply, audio stages and terminals. The low-impedance concept is used to limit energy loss and keep the signal reference stable, particularly in passages where the speakers demand current quickly.
Mechanical isolation
The transformer, heatsinks and capacitors are bolted directly to the chassis, creating a rigid reference for the heaviest elements. Silver-plated brass feet complete the structure and limit the influence of external vibration, preventing the mechanical construction from being treated separately from the electrical design.
Phono and balanced inputs
The phono section accepts MM and MC cartridges and allows a high-level turntable to be connected directly. XLR inputs maintain a balanced connection with compatible sources, while standard line connections allow players, external DACs and other analogue electronics to be integrated.
Level meters and interface
The level meters display signal dynamics and give the front panel a style inspired by classic Yamaha components. Volume, source selection and adjustments remain on physical controls, consistent with an amplifier without streaming or digital conversion and focused solely on the analogue chain.
