Circuitry Design for High Audio Quality ToP-ART (Total Purity Audio Reproduction Technology)
ToP-ART and ART Base design ensures optimal sound. With simple and direct processing and transmission of the audio signal there is less chance of it being affected by noise and distortion. Yamaha's amplification technology called ToP-ART features a Direct and Symmetrical I/O (input to output) design, with left and right channels arranged in a direct and symmetrical layout for maximum signal purity . In addition, the ART (Anti-Resonance and Tough) chassis base and a stiffening structure give the structure extreme rigidity and significantly reduce vibration. This innovative Yamaha design helps bring musicality and richness to audio reproduction.
High Quality Components for Extraordinary Audio Performance
Custom transformer and capacitors, two direct speaker signal path relays, system with one ground point, extruded aluminum heatsink and top quality components capable of effortlessly handling the most demanding audio signals. The quality of each component, as well as the integrated function, determines the sound quality of the HiFi components. Yamaha uses only high-quality components that have been carefully selected and tested.
Created from Yamaha's Rich Tradition and Experience, and High Technological Knowledge
Yamaha, with a long history of more than 125 years as a musical instrument manufacturer, has a strong heritage in HiFi components. The A-S501 is created thanks to the experience and technological knowledge. Despite being an entry-level model, it features high musicality and audio quality, and the construction, from circuit design to audio reproduction, is carried out with the utmost care, based on the concept of ""Natural Sound"" real, as it is in nature.
Pure Direct Mode for High Audio Purity
Pure Direct mode allows the music signal to travel the shortest possible path, bypassing the buffer amp and tone control, loudness and balance control, virtually eliminating any signal degradation for the utmost audio purity.
Continuous and variable loudness control
The A-S501 has a new analog loudness control on the front panel, which uses electronic volume control for superior audio quality, allowing you to adjust the loudness effect as desired. Being separate from the overall volume, it controls the balance of low and high frequencies, giving a full tonal range at any volume level and compensating for the human ear's loss of sensitivity in the high and low frequencies.
Gold plated terminals ensure high quality connections that prevent signal loss. The A-S501 have gold plated speaker terminals, RCA (CD, Phono) and coaxial.
Digital Audio input for TV and/or Blu-ray player
The A-S501 is equipped with a digital input with terminals orric and coaxial. The optical input allows you to receive audio from a TV, the coaxial for audio from a Blu-ray player. Audio stays digital, delivering pure, dynamic sound for all entertainment sources, from sports and other programming to movies and concerts.
Connection Compatible with YBA-11 Wireless Bluetooth Adapter
With the YBA-11 you'll be able to stream music wirelessly from Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones or PCs. Thanks to the digital connection and the aptX® audio decoding algorithm you will be able to listen to music wirelessly with excellent audio quality. You can also easily connect the YBA-11's power supply to the DC-out jack on the rear panel of the amplifier.
Selection of Speakers A, B or A+B and Terminals for Two Pairs of Speakers
It is possible to connect two separate pairs of speakers in different rooms and use them alternately or together. There are four speaker terminals available, so with the push of a button you can select the pair of speakers to get the perfect match to your sound source.
There is an output to connect a subwoofer in order to increase the bass output for a more powerful sound and an overall improvement in audio quality.
MM Phono terminal
Connection to a turntable with MM phono is possible for playing vinyl records. This allows you to listen not only to CDs but also to analogue recordings from an amplifier with the latest analogue/digital technology.
