Primare I15 MM: an analog integrated amplifier with the MM phono stage already fitted
I15 MM is the version of the I15 integrated that leaves the factory with the MM15 phono board installed. It is an analog-only stereo amplifier delivering 60 W per channel, to which a turntable carrying a moving magnet cartridge can be connected directly, with no external phono preamplifier required. On the I15 the same board is an option to add later; here it is included.
The power section relies on a fully analog class D module by Hypex, the one found in the I15 Prisma. Because the D/A conversion stage and the network player of that model are absent, Primare has set up the power supply so that it works entirely for the amplifier, with gains in drive and detail. The cabinet has the compact format of the 15 series, about three quarters the size of a conventional component.
Key features
- MM15 phono stage for moving magnet cartridges, fitted internally
- 60 W per channel into an 8 ohm load and 100 W into 4 ohms
- Analog Hypex power module operating in class D
- Five RCA stereo inputs for analog sources
- Line output and pre-out, both stereo on RCA
- C25 remote control
Connections
There are five analog stereo inputs, all on RCA, and the MM15 board provides the connection for the turntable. The stereo RCA outputs are two, one line and one pre-out. Control by other equipment is handled through the RS232 port, the 12 V trigger output and the two 3.5 mm IR sockets, one for input and one for output.
Technical data
The unit measures 350 mm in width, 73 mm in height and 339 mm in depth; it weighs 6.5 kg. The finishes on sale are Black and Titanium.
