DC Block: the design
Mains power affects the sound of the whole system, from source to speakers. In a home the supply picks up interference from many origins, which bends the AC wave and ends up as noise in the audio signal.
The DC Block goes between the wall socket and the component: it stops the direct current present on the mains and filters radio-frequency noise.
