PowerQuest 707: a rack-mount mains filter with Transient Power Correction
The PowerQuest 707 is the rack-mount mains filter of the series that adds the Transient Power Correction (TPC) circuit to its high-current outlets. It feeds and protects audio and video systems, with Ultra-Linear filtering for sources and non-sacrificial surge protection. The version offered here is the European one, with Schuko sockets and plug.
High-current outlets with TPC
The high-current outlets are of an uprated type and serve power amplifiers, AV receivers, soundbars and subwoofers. The low-impedance TPC circuit gives amplifiers a reserve of current for very brief peaks, lasting up to 25 milliseconds: current arrives uncompressed when the signal calls for it, to the benefit of dynamic contrasts and impact.
Ultra-Linear outlets and protection
The Ultra-Linear filtered outlets feed audio and video sources, computers, modems and routers; Ultra-Linear noise dissipation keeps the reduction of disturbances constant, for a quieter background and a more detailed sound. Surge protection stands up to repeated events unharmed. If mains voltage exceeds the safe level, the extreme-voltage shutdown opens the main circuit relay in under 0.25 seconds, and the supply comes back by itself once the mains returns to safe values.
PQ-715 cable and mounting
The 2-metre PQ-715 detachable cable uses Semi-Solid Long-Grain Copper conductors: the compacted strands stay put inside the bundle and lower the distortion from interaction between wires, while the long grain limits the distortion due to the grain boundaries of the metal. Direction-Controlled conductors carry induced noise away from sensitive circuits, ZERO-Tech avoids current compression and linearises noise dissipation, RF/ND-Tech cancels induced radio-frequency noise. The flat wall plug helps where space is short; 2U rack ears are supplied.
