Speaker cable with Long-Grain Copper conductors and twisted-pair geometry
AudioQuest Q2 is a full-range speaker cable for linking passive floorstanding or bookshelf loudspeakers to amplifiers and AV receivers. Its construction rests on two clear choices: Solid+ Concentric conductors in LGC (Long-Grain Copper), plus a low-inductance layout. Sold as a pair, one cable for the right channel and one for the left, in a 3 m length.
It suits two-channel listening as well as multi-channel installations, where it can feed the channels of a home theater system playing formats such as Dolby Atmos and DTS.
Solid+ Concentric conductors
Each conductor is built from 11 thin LGC strands wound in a spiral around one thicker central strand, also LGC. The strands keep an orderly position, which limits the electrical and magnetic interaction from one strand to the next, a known cause of distortion in stranded cables. The conductor stays flexible and easy to route, yet with stiffness and skin effect kept low it behaves much like a solid-core wire.
Low-inductance geometry
The two conductors are wound around each other to form a twisted pair. Compared with a side-by-side layout, inductance drops, which benefits clarity and frequency extension from the bass up to the treble. The outer jacket is black PVC with a square profile.
Terminations and length
The cable comes ready terminated with silver-plated SureGrip 100 BFA/Banana connectors, which fit the standard banana sockets found on amplifiers and loudspeakers. The plugs, plated directly with silver, are cold-welded to the conductors, meaning joined under pressure, for a firm and consistent contact. The available length is 3 m.
