The 800 Series Diamond D5 standmount, with the Diamond dome above the cabinet.
The 805 D5 is the smallest model of the range, designed for smaller listening rooms.
The pair of Bowers & Wilkins 805 D5 speakers hands the high frequencies to a tweeter in its Solid Body Tweeter-on-Top and the rest of the range to a single Continuum, in a reverse-wrap enclosure. Compared with the D4, the internal bracing, the tuning port and the wiring have been improved. There are four finishes, all new: Stealth Black, Warm White, Dark Walnut and Light Walnut, with Leather by Connolly trim. The dedicated FS-805 D5 stands are bought separately.

800 Series technology in a compact format
The tweeter is the one used on the floorstanders: it moves its first break-up mode to 70 kHz and its housing keeps it away from box vibration. The cone works with an Anti-Resonance plug; there is no Turbine Head and none of the Aerofoil bass drivers of the larger models. A sturdy spine closes the enclosure, the updated Matrix and new Space Frame stiffen it, and the Flowport takes care of tuning.
Stands and space
The speaker performs best on its dedicated stands, in Black or Warm Titanium, which raise it to the intended height. Before choosing a position, check the room behind the connections.
An easy load makes the 805 D5 simple to match, even with moderately powered electronics. For a precise stereo image, start from a triangle with the listening seat, then adjust distance from the walls and toe-in. The grille is black on the dark finishes and grey on the light ones.
