B&W Px7 S3

Third-generation Px7 updates wireless, microphones and EQ.

Px7 S3 keeps 40 mm drivers while changing several systems around them.

The single Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S3 has 40 mm bio-cellulose drivers with dedicated DSP, DAC and amplification. Against Px7 S2e it adds Bluetooth 5.3, aptX Lossless, eight microphones in total and five-band equalisation. A slimmer outline is not the only change: audio and call features advance too.

Key features

• 40 mm bio-cellulose drivers with dedicated DSP and DAC/amplifier
• Bluetooth 5.3 with aptX Lossless, Adaptive, HD, Classic, AAC and SBC
• Eight microphones for ANC and calls; ADI Pure Voice algorithm
• Five-band EQ and TrueSound; audio and charging via USB-C
• 30-hour battery, 7 hours after 15 minutes charging; 300 g weight

Noise and voice

Four microphones per earcup serve ANC and calls; ADI Pure Voice processes speech. Five-band EQ and TrueSound expand adjustment from S2e. aptX Lossless joins Adaptive, HD, Classic, AAC and SBC; the codec in use also depends on the connected phone or source.

Portability and continuity

Battery life remains 30 hours, with 7 hours after 15 minutes charging. Weight falls to 300 g from S2e's 307 g and the case is narrower. USB-C also carries wired audio. Px8 S2 shares some connection and control advances but moves to Carbon Cone drivers and a different materials construction.
