The second Px8 updates processing, microphones and wireless connection.
40 mm Carbon Cone drivers with a revised digital system and aptX Lossless.
The single Bowers & Wilkins Px8 S2 keeps 40 mm Carbon Cone drivers but reworks the system around them with dedicated DSP, DAC and amplification. Against the original Px8 it adds Bluetooth 5.3, aptX Lossless, eight microphones and five-band EQ with TrueSound. These are functional changes, not merely a revision of shape or materials.

Listening and calls
Four microphones per earcup participate in ANC and calls, with ADI Pure Voice processing. Bluetooth includes multipoint and aptX Lossless, Adaptive, HD, Classic, AAC and SBC; the source determines which connection is available. USB-C also provides wired audio. Five-band EQ extends adjustment from the earlier generation.
Battery unchanged, weight different
Battery life remains 30 hours, with 7 hours playback after a 15-minute charge. Weight is 310 g against Px8's 320 g, and the case measures 177 × 60 × 234 mm rather than 189 × 63 × 233 mm. These figures make the portability change concrete. The construction uses Nappa leather and die-cast aluminium.
Px7 S3 shares Bluetooth 5.3, aptX Lossless, eight microphones and five-band EQ, but uses bio-cellulose rather than Px8 S2's Carbon Cone drivers. Px8 McLaren Edition belongs to the original Px8 generation, retaining Bluetooth 5.2 and six microphones. For a new platform, connection and control figures distinguish S2 from that earlier special edition.
