CD player with Wolfson converter and digital output
The Cambridge Audio AXC35 is the CD player of the AX Series, built for anyone with a Compact Disc collection who wants to hear it through a dedicated source. Conversion is handled by the Wolfson Microelectronics WM8524 DAC, followed by a two-pole Butterworth filter, for precise, detailed reproduction.
Gapless playback removes the pauses between tracks: live albums and classical music flow without interruption, just as they were recorded.
Coaxial output for an external DAC
As well as the analogue output, the AXC35 has an S/PDIF digital coaxial output that connects it directly to an amplifier with digital inputs or to an external converter, so the player can grow with the system. It is compatible with any amplifier or audio system already in the home.
The stated figures: frequency response from 20 Hz to 20 kHz within ±0.4 dB, total harmonic distortion below 0.006% at 1 kHz and 0 dBFS, signal-to-noise ratio above 95 dB (A-weighted), crosstalk below -98 dB at 1 kHz. Output impedance is below 50 ohms.
Slim design, a match for the AXA35
The AXC35 has the minimalist Lunar Grey front panel of the AX Series, the black steel cabinet and the floating base, with a digital display on the front. It is the natural partner for the AXA35 amplifier, with which it forms a complete entry-level system.
It measures 75 x 430 x 305 mm (height, width, depth) and weighs 4.3 kg; it draws a maximum of 15 W and less than 0.5 W in standby. Supplied are the remote control with two AAA batteries, the power cable and the safety guide.
