AudioQuest Forest Optical Cables

Toslink optical cable with high-purity, low-dispersion fiber

Forest Optical is a digital fiber-optic cable intended for equipment with a Toslink connection: it carries digital audio as light between the source and the component that decodes it.

Fiber and dispersion

When light scatters inside the fiber, a share of the signal follows a longer route and reaches its destination after the rest. Usable bandwidth shrinks and data decoding suffers. Forest uses a high-purity fiber that limits this scattering, which leaves the final analog signal with less distortion.
