iPad has entered our daily life forcefully, at home and in the office. The latest solution offered by iPort: the Surface Mount dock, allows you to use the iPad as an intelligent touch controller: an elegant frame that allows the integration of the iPad on any surface without sacrificing its use for its applications traditional and without having to carry out collection works.

Frame where to insert the iPad, accurate realization of precision and high degree of finishing

The aluminum frame, which represents the visible part of the iPort Surface Mount solution, is made with high-quality material and has a degree of finish that testifies to the high quality standard of the workmanship. Available in three different colors: White, Black and Silver. The result rewards the pairing by making the quality between container and content homogeneous.

Choice of power supply systems: via PoE or 24V DC. Flexibility of use and installation

The electronic circuitry of the Surface Mount system offers various options for being powered: via PoE Switch or 24V DC power supply. In these cases it is necessary to have the so-called PoE Splitter which receives power from the PoE Switcher or from the 24V power supply, and manages the interface with the iPad via a standard USB-Lightning connection. Furthermore, for cases where power is required from a wall socket, just use the Power Injector, available as an optional accessory, to supply the necessary power to the PoE Switcher.

Installation on any surface, even on glass. Use of any junction box

The Surface Mount system was designed and built to be the easiest iPad wall installation solution ever. Any junction box can be used, whether European or British/American, single or double. Just place the iPad on top of the box, oriented in any way.

Installation in a snap

Installing your iPad into the Surface Mount frame is quick and easy. It's a "shot", literally. Simply place your iPad inside the frame and snap the latches into place. That's all! Once positioned, it is still possible to control the iPad access key by acting on the reference on the side of the frame and it is also possible to continue to use both the speaker and the microphone.

The Surface Mount system offers great flexibility in how to mount it on the wall. The bracket to which the frame is attached can be positioned in any orientation, simply so that it covers the junction box, which is also chosen with a wide freedom of shapes and sizes. This is very useful if you need to align the iPad with other objects on the wall or if you need to cover a hole in the wall from a previous installation. The particular screws used are half real screws for fixing the bracket, and half anchoring elements to allow the attachment of the frame. This minimizes the work of fixing the bracket to the wall. Everything has been designed to make the system installation procedure simple and easy.

PoE splitter: a small accessory with many possible uses

iPort PoE Splitter - a small device that can be housed in any junction box. Simply connect a CAT-5 or CAT-6 cable to the Splitter to receive power from a PoE (803.2af) source, such as a PoE network switch. Or simply connect the conductors of a 24V DC power supply to the specific two-pin terminal block, then connect the iPad lightning cable to the USB port of the Splitter to supply the iPad with the 12W of power required to operate the recharge function.

Once the iPad has been positioned in the frame and the connections made with the Splitter, the last thing to do is to hook the frame/iPad assembly to the wall bracket. This happens in the simplest possible way, magnetizing the two components together. Just place the frame on top of the bracket so that everything joins together perfectly and in complete safety. In installations in crowded places (offices, restaurants) it is also possible to use the special safety locks to guarantee the stability of the whole.
