Seven channels and 95W for genuine immersive sound
A 7.2 amplifier with HEOS, Dolby Atmos and three 8K inputs, aimed at balanced 5.2.2 systems.
The AVC-X2850H moves a system from conventional 5.2 to 5.2.2 or 7.2, with 95W per channel and Dolby Atmos and DTS:X decoding. It omits the DAB+ tuner fitted to DAB-labelled AVR models and therefore suits listeners who mainly use network radio and music. Compared with the AVC-S670H it adds two power stages, immersive audio and Audyssey MultEQ XT; compared with the X3900H it remains more straightforward to configure.

The right scale for a complete 5.2.2 system
Three HDMI inputs support 8K/60 and 4K/120, while two outputs can serve a television and projector. The network section plays high-resolution files and integrates services supported by HEOS, while Roon Ready status simplifies inclusion in a Roon library. Audyssey measures the speakers and adjusts distances, levels and response to suit the room.
This is the appropriate step for a system with two ceiling channels and no planned 7.2.4 expansion. That kind of project requires the 11.4 processing, full pre-outs and four independent subwoofer outputs of the X3800H/X3900H class.
Two monitor outputs are useful even when the second display is used only occasionally. Zone 2 and HEOS provide different routes to extending playback: the former through the amplifier's assigned connections, the latter through compatible network products distributed around other rooms. Both can be planned from the initial installation.
