Streaming, television and USB-DAC for upgrading a stereo system
The DNP-2000NE brings HEOS, HDMI ARC, AirPlay 2 and high-resolution USB conversion to a system with separate amplification.
This is a digital source rather than an amplifier, connecting to an integrated amplifier or pre-amplifier through fixed or variable outputs. HEOS brings together music services, internet radio, NAS libraries and multi-room playback, while HDMI ARC carries sound from television apps into the stereo. USB-B also allows computer-DAC use with PCM up to 384kHz/32-bit and DSD 11.2MHz.

Role in the system
Variable output enables direct connection to a power amplifier or compatible active speakers, while fixed output leaves volume control to the amplifier. Optical and coaxial inputs accept external sources, and a dedicated headphone section supports personal listening.
Paired with a PMA-1700NE or PMA-3000NE it adds the connectivity those models omit without duplicating their power stages. Compared with the PMA-900HNE it separates streamer and amplifier, providing a more modular route for future upgrades to one part of the system.
Bluetooth and AirPlay 2 are also available, but network connection enables HEOS and stable access to home libraries. Variable volume must be configured carefully when feeding a power amplifier directly. With an integrated amplifier, fixed output is normally preferable because it avoids two volume controls in series.
HDMI ARC distinguishes it from purely musical streamers by allowing the stereo system to reproduce films and programmes without adding an AV receiver. It does not process surround channels; it receives compatible television audio and plays it in two channels. This integrates the screen while retaining a stereo hi-fi chain.
