The compact system with HEOS, HDMI ARC, CD and DAB+
The RCD-N12 DAB+ combines stereo amplification, CD, HEOS, HDMI ARC, MM phono and digital radio in one chassis.
This is the most complete compact system in the batch and is supplied without speakers. Compared with the RCD-M41DAB it adds networking, music services through HEOS, AirPlay 2, HDMI ARC and an MM phono input, together with more powerful amplification. It can partner the SC-N10 pair, for which dedicated optimisation is provided, or other compatible passive speakers.

Role in the system
HEOS accesses online services, internet radio and network files and coordinates the system with other rooms. HDMI ARC allows the television remote to control compatible functions and makes the N12 suitable as a living-room audio system. A turntable with an MM cartridge connects directly without an external phono pre-amplifier.
The distinction from a receiver such as the DRA-900H concerns scale. The RCD-N12 prioritises compact dimensions and an integrated CD player, while the DRA offers more power and numerous HDMI inputs. It is an all-in-one choice for reducing component count without giving up traditional sources or streaming.
The unit can be used with the separately sold SC-N10 speakers or with another pair selected for the room and listening preference. A top display and touch controls reduce visual clutter, while the HEOS app handles network functions. It remains accessible to users alternating between remote control, smartphone and television.
DAB+ radio and CD retain sources that do not depend on a subscription or network, while HEOS covers connected listening. This combination is the reason to prefer it over a separate streamer where space is limited: amplification and sources share power supply, display and controls in one chassis.
