Two compact towers for a stereo front stage
The Signature Elite ES50 pair serves stereo and cinema systems.
The Polk Audio Signature Elite ES50 pair introduces floorstanding speakers to the range without the footprint of the larger models. Each tower has a 1" Terylene dome tweeter and two 5.25" mica-reinforced polypropylene Dynamic Balance woofers. It can form a standalone stereo front stage or the left and right channels of a home cinema system.
Each cabinet measures 19.1 x 95 x 27.7 cm and weighs 14.5 kg. The body is relatively narrow, but allow for its floor base and cable route. These are passive speakers, connected to an amplifier or AV receiver through dual gold-plated five-way posts; retain the jumpers for ordinary single-cable wiring.

The first size of Signature Elite tower
Compared with the ES55, its two 5.25" drivers and 95 cm height are easier to accommodate. The ES55 moves to two 6.5" woofers, while the ES60 has three and needs more space. The ES50 states an overall response of 38 Hz-40 kHz and uses Power Port bass reflex loading.
Hi-Res Audio certification accompanies the Terylene tweeter. For cinema use, choose an ES30 or ES35 centre according to the height available beneath the screen, and add a subwoofer for deeper effects. Before settling the layout, try different spacing and angles towards the sofa.
Both woofers work within one cabinet per tower. Choosing between ES50 and ES55 involves cabinet size, driver diameter and the actual room available rather than a generic promise of better sound.
