A two-way sealed LCR speaker for left, centre or right duty: it is made to hang on the wall, yet as a centre it can also rest on a table or shelf using the supports in the box.
Cinema 200: drivers and mounting
The Cinema 200 is the Cinema series speaker intended for the three front channels: one model does left, right or centre. The cabinet is 50.5 cm tall, 16 cm wide and only 10.3 cm deep, weighing 3.7 kg, so it stands out very little from the wall it is fixed to. When it serves as a centre and you would rather not hang it, the supplied supports hold it in place on a shelf or tabletop.
The layout is three drive units in a two-way arrangement. The tweeter is a 25 mm S-PAL dome in satin-anodised pure aluminium, with ferrofluid to damp and cool it; a metal mesh guards it and the WaveGuide keeps its dispersion broad and even. The two 102 mm bass/midrange units have polypropylene diaphragms with mineral loading, 25 mm voice coils suited to high temperatures and oversized ferrite magnets. The crossover point is 1.8 kHz, with second-order slopes.
Compared with the smaller satellites in the series, the twin woofers raise sensitivity to 90 dB in room (87 dB anechoic) and take bass extension to 80 Hz (DIN). On-axis response stays within ±2 dB between 120 Hz and 20 kHz, and up to 15 kHz at 30° off axis. The load is 8 ohm compatible, recommended amplifiers range from 15 to 150 W and maximum input is 70 W. A subwoofer should be planned for the lowest frequencies.
