JBL 4349: 2-way monitor with 300 mm woofer and dual-diaphragm driver
The 4349 is a two-way monitor loudspeaker from the Studio Monitor series, developed by JBL in Northridge, California. It pairs a 300 mm woofer with a dual-diaphragm compression driver mounted on an HDI (High-Definition Imaging) horn, in a cabinet intended for stand placement. Sold in pairs: the weight and dimensions given below refer to one loudspeaker.
The patented 38 mm D2415K driver uses annular Teonex diaphragms and works into an HDI-geometry horn moulded from Sonoglass. The JW300PG-8 woofer has a cast frame and a Pure Pulp cone and is bass-reflex loaded, with two tuned ports venting at the front. V-shaped internal braces stiffen the enclosure. Two attenuators adjust the high (HF) and ultra-high (UHF) frequencies separately: the first acts between 1.5 and 6 kHz, the second from 5 kHz upwards, each within a range of -1 to +1 dB in half-decibel steps.
