A slim tower with twin Torrent drivers and a width of only 17.8 cm
Totem Tribe Tower brings Torrent technology to a narrow floorstanding cabinet, using two 4-inch woofers and a 1.3-inch textile-dome tweeter.
It is designed for systems where performance and footprint need to coexist. The cabinet is only around 20 cm deep and can operate very close to the rear wall, yet stated response still reaches 30 Hz. Its 89 dB sensitivity is higher than Forest or Wind, while the 4-ohm load calls for stable amplification.
Key features
- Slim two-way floorstanding loudspeaker.
- 2 x 4-inch Torrent woofers.
- 1.3-inch laser-etched textile soft-dome tweeter.
- Specified frequency response of 30 Hz-30 kHz.
- 89 dB sensitivity.
- 4-ohm nominal impedance.
- Suggested amplifier range is 50-200 W.
- First-order crossover applied to the tweeter section.
Torrent technology in an easier format to integrate
The twin 4-inch drivers use the Torrent platform and do not require crossover components in their main signal path. The high-frequency section is integrated through a first-order network. The result is a tower far narrower than Metal V2 or Wind, with dimensions suited to living rooms where a large conventional enclosure would be difficult to accommodate.
Closer to the wall than Forest or Wind
Totem allows placement from roughly 10 cm off the rear wall, far less than the distances suggested for Forest and especially Wind. This flexibility is one of the main reasons to choose Tribe Tower: it is not intended simply to replace the larger models, but to preserve useful extension and imaging where installation freedom is limited.
System matching
Its 89 dB sensitivity helps generate useful output without extreme amplifier power, but the 4-ohm impedance still favours an amplifier with good current capability. It suits modern stereo systems and higher-level cinema installations requiring a slim front speaker, as well as medium rooms where a traditional tower would be visually or physically intrusive. Monocoque lock-miter construction and borosilicate damping help keep the unusually narrow cabinet rigid. This matters because the reduced cross-section leaves less internal volume in which to manage stored energy and resonances. Extension to 30 kHz and the relatively large tweeter complete a design that prioritises dispersion and integration even when the cabinets cannot sit far from surrounding surfaces.
