Motion B10 is the two-way bookshelf speaker in MartinLogan's Motion series, with a Folded Motion tweeter and a 14 cm woven glass-fibre mid-woofer. Under 25 cm deep, it is offered as a pair for shelves, desks, sideboards or dedicated stands.
Motion B10: a two-way in a compact format
Motion B10 measures 31.8 x 17.8 x 24.8 cm and weighs 6.6 kg, a size that lets it sit on a shelf, a desk or a sideboard without overhanging. Anyone who prefers a floor support can use the STAND25 stand, available separately, which screws straight into the underside of the cabinet to hold it firmly. Small as it is, the stated response covers 56 Hz to 25 kHz within 3 dB, with 92 dB sensitivity.
The layout is a two-way crossing over at 2,370 Hz. Above that point is the 26 x 36 mm Folded Motion tweeter in Gen2 Obsidian form, a thin-film driver with a revised magnet structure for more output and less distortion; below it, a 14 cm mid-woofer with a woven glass-fibre cone and polymer chassis. The waveguide around the tweeter blends its dispersion with the cone's and keeps listening even well away from the centre.
The cabinet is a bass reflex design with its port at the back and a single set of terminals. The mid-woofer works into an asymmetrical chamber shaped to avoid resonance, and its cone is formed as one piece. Nominal impedance is 5 ohms and the suggested amplifier rating runs from 20 to 200 W.
