The Q Acoustics 3010C is the smallest bookshelf model in the 3000c series: a two-way design with a 101 mm C3 mid/bass driver and a 22 mm tweeter, intended for smaller rooms and supplied as a pair.
3010C: C3 cone, isolated tweeter and P2P cabinet
The mid/bass unit uses the C3 Continuous Curved Cone profile that Q Acoustics first brought out on the 5000 series. Rather than a straight-sided cone or a flared one, the diaphragm follows a single unbroken curve, pairing the low-frequency drive of the former with the midrange control of the latter. This gives wide dispersion, an even response and a more natural handover to the tweeter, and makes the speaker less fussy about where it sits in the room. The shape demands a strong motor, so the voice coil works with a generously sized magnet, which also keeps harmonic distortion low.
The 22 mm tweeter follows the layout used in the Concept series: it is a sealed unit, mechanically decoupled from the front panel, so pressure changes inside the cabinet and the motion of the neighbouring mid/bass driver do not disturb it. Its vented inner chamber lowers distortion and allows a lower crossover point, set here at 3.1 kHz. The enclosure is stiffened by P2P (Point to Point) braces, struts placed only where the panels are prone to flex, which means fewer low-frequency resonances and a more sharply focused stereo image.
With an internal volume of 4.5 litres, a height of 25.4 cm and a weight of 4.4 kg, the 3010C fits on a bookcase, a shelf or a stand. Stated response runs from 60 Hz to 30 kHz (-6 dB), with 85 dB sensitivity and a 6 ohm nominal impedance; the suggested amplifier delivers between 15 and 80 W. Grilles and foam bungs come in the box, and the drive units are finished with satin metallic trim rings. Dedicated accessories include the Q FS50 and Q FS75 stands and the Q WB50 wall bracket.
