A compact active stereo system with phono, Bluetooth and 2 x 120 W
Totem Kin Play combines amplification, DAC and analogue and digital inputs in a standmount pair using a 5-inch woofer and alloy tweeter.
The system is designed to form a complete setup with very few components: smartphones and tablets connect through Bluetooth aptX HD, televisions or digital sources through optical, while the RCA input can operate at line level or as an MM phono input.
Key features
- Integrated amplification rated at 2 x 120 W RMS.
- 5-inch Natural Hybrid woofer.
- 1-inch alloy tweeter.
- Specified frequency response of 50 Hz-20 kHz ±3 dB.
- Bluetooth with aptX HD.
- Optical, phono/line RCA, mini-jack and AMP IN connections.
- RCA subwoofer output.
- Internal DAC with optical input up to 24-bit/192 kHz.
One active pair for very different sources
The phono input accepts a turntable without an external preamplifier, while optical makes it easy to connect a television, streamer or console. AMP IN bypasses the internal preamp and accepts a source with its own volume control, useful when adding an external Wi-Fi streamer.
Compared with Mini and Tower II
KIN Play Mini keeps almost the same feature set but uses a 4-inch woofer and 2 x 70 W, making it more suitable for smaller spaces. Tower II moves to 2 x 200 W, twin woofers and HDMI ARC. KIN Play sits between them, retaining standmount dimensions while offering greater dynamic capacity than Mini.
Suitable rooms
It works well in small and medium rooms, advanced desktop systems or living spaces where a separate amplifier is undesirable. The subwoofer output makes it easy to add KIN Sub 8 or Sub 10 for greater extension without changing the system's simple architecture. The standmount cabinet remains substantial enough to support the 5-inch woofer without turning the system into a purely desktop product, placing it between Mini and Tower II in listening scale as well as size.
