Dorpo X3: compact 8K media player running FunplayUI 2.0
The X3 is the smallest of the Dorpo 8K media players. It plays audio and video files from the network or from USB media, lets the user install streaming apps and feeds a television or projector through a single HDMI output. It has no internal drive bay, which the X300 and UHP3001 do have: local content is read from an external disk plugged into the USB 3.0 socket. Dorpo recommends it for one screen as well as for systems with several screens.
The processor is the five-core Amlogic S928X-K, built on a 12 nm process and rated at 3.2 TOPS; it works with an ARM Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, 4 GB of LPDDR4X memory and 64 GB of eMMC storage. The power supply sits inside the case, so no separate module is needed. The chassis has a glossy single-piece surface with curved edges and a frosted aluminium alloy lid, and it is slim enough to be fitted behind a television. FunplayUI 2.0 runs on Android 11 and is operated with the supplied remote or with the dp SmartController app, for iOS and Android.

The player can also be managed through HDMI CEC, the local network and a smartphone app. The digital output carries Dolby and DTS streams and PCM as high as 192 kHz; the analogue output delivers 2.1 Vrms with a signal-to-noise ratio above 103 dB at 1 kHz. Mains input from 100 to 240 V.
Supported formats
The built-in player decodes the AV1, VP9, H.265, AVS2 and AVS3 codecs in 8K and opens MKV, MP4, TS and M2TS files, together with the BDMV and ISO Blu-ray structures. The video output follows the original cadence of the film, including 23.976, 29.97 and 59.94 fps, and reaches a native resolution of 7680 x 4320 at 60 Hz. Among the apps that can be installed Dorpo lists Amazon Prime, YouTube and Plex for video, Tidal, Spotify and Apple Music for music.
