Focal 100 ICW6: coaxial in-ceiling loudspeaker
Two-way coaxial in-ceiling loudspeaker from the 100 series, for ceilings or walls: a single round opening brings sound to hallways, kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms, alone or in pairs for background music and for the channels of a home cinema system. Compared with the 100 ICW5 it has the larger woofer.
Drivers
16.5 cm woofer with a Polyglass cone, cellulose with glass microspheres that keeps the midrange clean; inverted-dome tweeter with a waveguide for wide, even dispersion, with the treble level adjustable in three positions. The crossover is designed to tame the typical shower effect of ceiling speakers. Frequency response from 62 Hz to 23 kHz, sensitivity 89 dB, nominal impedance 8 ohms (7.3 ohms minimum), recommended amplifier from 25 to 100 W.
Installation
Diameter 208 mm, depth 95 mm (91 mm behind the surface), 184 mm cut-out, for ceilings and walls from 8 to 40 mm; weight 1.5 kg. Built-in fixing brackets and a one-piece frame. Two paintable magnetic grilles, one round and one square, plus a cut-out template and adhesive felt pads are included. The tropicalised cone copes with damp rooms such as bathrooms. The plasterboard mounting kit is ordered separately.
Use and matching
For multi-room distribution, or as a surround and height channel in a home cinema system together with the 100 IW6 in the walls. The 100 ICW6 T version, with a 70/100 V line transformer, is meant for constant-voltage installations.
