Focal 100 OD8 T: 2-way 70/100 V outdoor loudspeaker
The 100 OD8 in its constant-voltage version: the built-in adjustable transformer connects it to a 70 or 100 V system and lets many loudspeakers be chained to cover restaurant terraces, hotels and large areas; an 8 ohm position also makes it usable with a conventional amplifier. 21 cm Polyglass-treated woofer and aluminium inverted-dome tweeter, low in directivity, for an even sound over the whole area.
IP66 certified and treated against UV rays, with a high-density damped cabinet: it withstands rain, wind and dust.
The Polyglass membrane, a Focal exclusive, is a cellulose cone coated with glass microbeads: the stiffness of glass adds to the damping of paper, for a clean, uncoloured midrange. The treble is handled by an aluminium inverted-dome tweeter, a Focal signature since 1981, which gives wide dispersion and very low directivity.
Installation
The reinforced, notched bracket rotates by 180 degrees, for vertical or horizontal mounting (the logo turns). Grille and cabinet can be painted.
