Moving coil cartridge with an elliptical stylus.

SPU #1 E: the design

The SPU is Ortofon's historic moving coil, built into its own headshell: it weighs about 30 grams and tracks at high forces, so it needs a tonearm of suitable mass with a standard mount.

It carries an elliptical stylus. Output is 0.18 mV, it tracks at 4 g and wants a load above 10 ohms.
