Fyne Audio F1-8: 2-way standmount loudspeaker with a 200 mm IsoFlare driver

The F1-8 brings the technology used in the floorstanding models of the F1 range to a smaller, stand-mounted format. Sold as a pair.

Built by hand, the cabinet rests on a plinth of machined aluminium, inside which sits the BassTrax diffuser for the low frequencies. The 200 mm IsoFlare unit, fitted with a FyneFlute rubber surround, is paired with a compression tweeter that uses a 25 mm magnesium dome: together they form a time-aligned point source with isotropic radiation over the whole audio band. Finishing is carried out by hand at the Fyne Audio factory in the UK, with real walnut veneer and a burr walnut inlay.

Technical data

The crossover is a low-loss passive design, ready for bi-wiring and given Deep Cryogenic Treatment: second-order low-pass section, first-order high-pass section, crossover point at 1.8 kHz. Power handling is 90 watts RMS continuous and 360 watts peak. Dimensions (height x width x depth) are 470 x 280 x 441 mm and net weight is 15.2 kg: both figures refer to a single speaker. Measured from the front edge of the cabinet, the official data sheet places the S-Trax position at 69 mm and the SuperTrax position at 45 mm.
