Blu-ray Audio · Dolby Atmos · Stereo 24-bit / 96 kHz
The Dolby Atmos mix of The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, overseen by Peter Gabriel and Tony Banks.
The new immersive mix is by Bob Mackenzie at Real World Studios; next to it sits the original 1974 stereo, remastered in 2025 at 24-bit / 96 kHz.
The story of the album
Released in November 1974, The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway is a double concept album: the story and all the lyrics are by Peter Gabriel and follow Rael, a young New Yorker dragged into a surreal underground world. It was recorded between August and October that year at Glaspant Manor in Wales, using Island's mobile studio, and produced by John Burns with the band.
It is the last Genesis studio album with Gabriel on vocals. It reached number ten in the UK, went gold in the UK, the US, Canada and France, and was played in full on a tour of more than a hundred dates.
Twenty-three tracks, from "The Carpet Crawlers" to "Back in N.Y.C.", with a tale that moves from room to room: in the Dolby Atmos mix Banks' keyboards, the guitars and the voices each find a space of their own.
