Ultra lightweight
Rega Planar 6 combines a Tancast 8 plinth, RB330 tonearm, dual-layer glass platter and Neo PSU MK2 in a turntable designed for high mechanical precision.
Planar 6 is built around an ultra-lightweight plinth with a Tancast 8 foam core enclosed between high-rigidity HPL laminates. This structure reduces mass without sacrificing the stability required by the tonearm and central bearing. The turntable uses the RB330 tonearm, a machined aluminium sub-platter, a 24 V synchronous motor matched to its own Neo PSU MK2, plus a float-glass platter in two layers. Drive is provided by the Reference EBLT belt fitted as standard.

Tancast 8 plinth
The Planar 6 base uses an ultra-light Tancast 8 polyurethane foam core enclosed by thin HPL layers. Rigidity is concentrated in the areas linking the tonearm pivot and main bearing through Double Brace technology. Rega therefore avoids increasing the overall mass of the chassis, limiting the energy that can be stored or transferred towards the record during playback.
RB330 tonearm and rotation system
The RB330 is a hand-assembled tonearm with aluminium tube, high-precision bearing housing and ultra-low-friction movement. The one-piece machined aluminium sub-platter runs in the central bearing assembly and is paired with the two-layer platter in float glass. The platter's mass distribution promotes flywheel effect, while the lightweight chassis keeps vibration away from the playing surface as far as possible.
Motor and Neo PSU MK2
The 24 V synchronous motor is adjusted and individually matched to its Neo PSU MK2. The external power supply provides electronic speed change, fine adjustment and an advanced circuit for reducing vibration. Drive uses the Reference EBLT belt, designed for greater dimensional uniformity and to maintain a stable relationship between motor, sub-platter and platter.
Cartridge configuration
Planar 6 can be ordered with the Nd5 or Nd7 moving-magnet cartridge, or with the Ania Pro moving-coil cartridge factory fitted. The choice of different playback systems allows the turntable to be matched to the phono stage and system level without changing the mechanical platform, which remains based on the RB330 tonearm and electronic motor control via Neo PSU MK2.
Supplied accessories
Planar 6 includes the Neo PSU MK2 power supply matched and calibrated to the motor. The dust cover is supplied with the turntable; cartridges are available according to the selected configuration.
