A belt-drive turntable with classic looks, a 9-inch carbon and aluminium tonearm and an Ortofon Quintet Red cartridge already fitted.
The Classic EVO - Quintet Red: the mechanics
This is The Classic EVO supplied with the Ortofon Quintet Red installed at the factory. The platter is an aluminium alloy, damped on the inside with TPE, and sits on a sub-platter that is also aluminium, diamond-turned. Chassis and sub-chassis are kept apart by TPE elements, and the spindle runs in a bearing of steel, bronze and Teflon.
Drive is by belt, with a DC motor and electronic switching between 33 and 45 rpm. The 9-inch arm has a tube made as a carbon and aluminium sandwich and, according to the Italian distributor, takes both MM and MC cartridges; its gimbal pivot uses zircon bearings.
Azimuth and VTA are adjustable, and the damping feet let you level the deck. The weight quoted by the distributor is 10.5 kg.
