JL Audio M6-650X: 6.5-inch marine coaxial speakers
The M6-650X is the 6.5-inch coaxial in the JL Audio M6 series, made for anyone who wants high-fidelity listening on board at any volume. A long-excursion woofer works with a 20 mm silk dome tweeter, and continuous power handling reaches 75 W RMS into 4 ohms.
Three grilles are offered: Classic Gloss White, Sport Gloss White and Sport Gunmetal Titanium. Both Sport grilles can also be ordered with Transflective RGB LED lighting. The price is for a pair.

Woofer and tweeter
The woofer is optimised with DMA, the proprietary JL Audio technology that acts on the motor, the suspension and the cone profile to lower distortion and deliver clean, well controlled bass. The silk tweeter is matched to the diameter of this woofer: it brings out high-frequency detail and keeps a good response off axis too, so coverage stays even across the whole listening area.
Two-way crossover
A true two-way crossover, calculated for this size, sits inside the woofer structure. An electronic circuit protects the tweeter alongside it and limits the chance of failure. The M6 series performs at its best with a quality amplifier.
RGB LED lighting
On the With RGB versions of the Sport grilles, the patented Transflective system spreads light evenly and without glare. The LEDs run on 10 to 14.4 V DC, draw 324 mA at most at 14.4 V and connect through a four-conductor 20 AWG flying lead.
Installation
Outer diameter is 175 mm, mounting depth 76 mm, and the cutout measures 127-133 mm. Grille and trim come off easily, which also helps when painting them to match. Terminals are fork type. The grille stands 24 mm proud of the panel (26 mm for Sport) and the fixing holes lie on a 156 mm circle. Like the rest of the series, this model is made to live at sea and to cope with salt water in the long run.
