The KEF Ci3160REFM-THX is an in-wall architectural speaker belonging to the prestigious Ci-Reference range, designed for home theatre systems of the highest level. Handmade by KEF engineers in Maidstone, in the United Kingdom, it combines the build tradition of the Reference series with advanced acoustic technologies such as the 12th-generation Uni-Q array and Metamaterial Absorption Technology MAT™. It is a solution intended for private cinema rooms, large living rooms and custom installations where the speaker has to disappear into the room, leaving space for an immersive, precise, high-fidelity soundstage.
THX® Certified Ultra performance for large rooms
The KEF Ci3160REFM-THX is THX® Certified Ultra, one of the highest performance classes for large home theatre systems. The configuration incorporates two 160 mm woofers, a 125 mm Uni-Q driver and a 25 mm vented aluminium tweeter with MAT™ technology, able to absorb 99% of the unwanted sound coming from the rear of the tweeter. The result is clean, dynamic and coherent reproduction, with articulate bass down to 40 Hz and a range extending up to 28 kHz in the open-backed configuration.
Handmade in the United Kingdom
Like KEF's high-end speakers, the Ci3160REFM-THX is designed, engineered and assembled by hand in Maidstone, UK. The precision-machined aluminium baffle, 11 mm thick, is designed to eliminate vibrations and offer a stable platform for the drivers, improving control, detail and dynamics. The nominal coverage of 150° widens the sweet spot and distributes the sound evenly, making listening natural even from different positions in the room. The Aluminium Black/Grey finish, with a black hairline aluminium baffle and grey Uni-Q array, underlines the premium character of the product.
Invisible integration for cinema rooms and fine living spaces
The KEF Ci3160REFM-THX is designed to offer reference performance without affecting the aesthetics of the room. The paintable metal magnetic grille and the optional black cloth grille allow the speaker to blend discreetly into technical walls, wood panelling, dedicated cinema rooms and refined living spaces. With a mounting depth of 99 mm, a maximum SPL of 110 dB and recommended power from 50 to 350 W, it is an ideal choice for professional-level custom systems.
