Ci-Reference in-wall speaker with THX® Certified Dominus certification
The KEF Ci5160REFM-THX is an in-wall architectural speaker from the Ci-Reference series. It is KEF’s first in-wall speaker to be THX® Certified Dominus, the largest and most powerful THX class, designed to bring the experience of a cinema auditorium closer to home. It uses the 12th generation Uni-Q driver array with Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT™) and is suited to large home theatres and living rooms.
Four 160 mm bass drivers and a range extending down to 32 Hz
The bass section is handled by four 160 mm bass drivers, with a vented motor system designed for in-wall installation: the frequency range reaches down to 32 Hz (−10 dB). The 125 mm Uni-Q driver has at its centre a 25 mm vented aluminium dome tweeter with MAT™, which absorbs 99% of the unwanted sound. Uni-Q acts as a single point source: it enlarges the sweet spot and disperses sound more evenly, with a nominal coverage of 150°.
Hand-built in the United Kingdom
Like KEF’s high-end speakers, the Ci-Reference series is designed, engineered and hand-built in Maidstone, United Kingdom. The precision-machined aluminium baffle, 11 mm thick, is engineered to eliminate vibration and give the drivers a stable platform. The finish is Aluminium Black/Grey: a hairline-finished black aluminium baffle with the Uni-Q array in grey.
Blending into the wall
The magnetic metal grille is paintable; an optional black cloth grille is also available. The mounting depth from the surface is 99 mm; the speaker reaches a maximum SPL of 116 dB at 1 m and works with amplifiers from 50 to 500 W. The Ci5160REFM-THX is sold singly.
