Cable-free connection for cleaner integration
The KEF KW1 is a transmitter/receiver kit designed to connect the brand's compatible subwoofers wirelessly, removing the constraints of traditional cabling and allowing a freer, tidier installation. This solution is intended for those who wish to place the subwoofer in the acoustically best position in the room without depending on the location of the main electronics. The system uses high-quality digital transmission in the 5 GHz band, with support for up to 24 bit / 48 kHz, to maintain impact, detail and precision in both music and home cinema use.
Stable, fast transmission that is simple to set up
The kit comprises a discreet transmitter and a dedicated receiver, pre-paired and designed to offer intuitive pairing and a stable connection. KEF states transmission selectable between 5.2 GHz and 5.8 GHz, a latency of less than 17 ms and an operating range of up to 30 metres line of sight, characteristics that make the KW1 particularly suitable for domestic settings where placement flexibility is needed without giving up quality. The transmitter is powered via USB, while the receiver is powered directly from the expansion port of the compatible subwoofer, further simplifying installation.
KEF compatibility and use in modern hi-fi and AV systems
The KEF KW1 is compatible with several KEF subwoofers, including models from the Kube series, as well as KC62 and KC92 on the current product pages; KEF's information materials also list legacy compatibility with models such as Kube 8b / 10b / 12b and KF92. KEF also indicates the KW1 as suitable for use with systems such as LSX II LT, LSX II, LS50 Wireless II and LS60 Wireless, making it a very interesting solution for those who want to create an elegant, clean system that is simpler to integrate into the home.
