CD replay and digital conversion in the same chassis
M3s CD is a CD player with a 24-bit/192kHz DAC plus optical, coaxial and USB-B inputs for external sources.
M3s CD is for listeners with a physical disc library who do not want a second component to convert a streamer, television or computer. The mechanism reads CDs, while the dual-differential Delta-Sigma DAC also serves three external digital inputs. Its system role therefore differs from M2scd: this is not merely a player with digital outputs, but a potential conversion hub for several sources.
Key features
- CD player and standalone DAC in one component
- Dual-differential 24-bit/192kHz Delta-Sigma conversion
- Eight-times oversampling
- Optical, coaxial and USB-B inputs
- Optical and coaxial digital outputs, RCA analogue output
- 12 V trigger and silver finish
A DAC that works without a disc
USB-B connects a computer, while optical and coaxial accept a television, streamer or digital transport. All these sources share the conversion stage and RCA analogue output to the amplifier. Using M3s CD with no disc in the mechanism explains the step up from M2: one converter can give the digital front end a consistent character and free inputs on the integrated amplifier.
Dual differential handling for cleaner separation
The differential configuration uses complementary branches to process the signal and cancel unwanted common components. Eight-times oversampling moves filtering work away from the audio band and prepares the stream for conversion. These choices are not about lengthening a format list, but about creating a stable, quiet analogue output that serves both CDs and external digital sources.
The intended partner for M3si
M3s CD and M3si share width, design language and silver finish. Connected through RCA, they form a system in which the player handles conversion up to 24/192 while the integrated amplifier controls volume and loudspeakers. The 12 V trigger supports coordinated power with compatible equipment. Owners of an advanced DAC can instead use the digital outputs and retain the mechanism as a transport.
