Pair of two-way standmount speakers with a 165 mm woofer, an updated take on the historic Mission 700. Sold as a pair.
700: the design
The Mission 700 keeps the look of the original model, with its white front baffle and real-wood veneered cabinet, but inside it is a present-day design by Peter Comeau. The 165 mm woofer has a polypropylene cone and a motor developed for this speaker; the microfibre dome tweeter works with a damped rear chamber, as on the 770.
The tweeter is mounted below the woofer: this is the layout Mission has used since the first 700, and it makes the sound of the two drivers reach the listener's ear height together. The reflex port, shaped inside and out, takes the in-room response below 38 Hz. The matching stands, the Mission 700 Stand, are bought separately.
