Four flexible channels for Atmos, bi-amping, two zones or bridged stereo
M6x 250.4/2 works as four 175 W/4-ohm channels or two bridged 250 W channels.
M6x 250.4/2 is the reconfigurable member of the multichannel family. In four-channel mode it can add Atmos speakers, power surrounds, support passive or active bi-amping, or serve two stereo zones. Bridged mode turns it into a stronger two-channel amplifier for the front speakers. It contains no decoding or volume control: separate analogue signals must come from an AV processor, preamplifier or multiroom system.
Key features
- 4x175 W into 4 ohms or 2x250 W bridged
- Four inputs RCA e quattro XLR
- Four loop RCA for signal distribution
- Twin toroidal transformers
- Fanless Class A/B amplification
- 12 V trigger, black or silver finish
The value lies in reconfiguration
A five- or seven-channel amplifier assigns one stage to each speaker. The 4/2 instead lets the installer choose channel count or bridged power. It is ideal for adding four heights, bi-amping a pair of speakers or creating two zones. Bridging must only be used with compatible loads and correct wiring.
Expanding without replacing the existing amplifier
Owners of a five- or seven-channel amplifier can add the 250.4/2 to reach 9.1 or 11.1, leaving additional channels to the new unit. Alternatively, two bridged channels can assume front-speaker duties and free resources on the main amplifier. This modular logic avoids discarding a good component when the room layout changes.
Quiet operation in the cinema room
Passive cooling removes fans and their noise from quiet scenes. RCA and XLR on every channel suit the processor outputs, while loops assist bi-amping signal distribution. The trigger synchronises power. Installation must still leave clear airflow around the heat sinks.
