Nordost Heimdall 2 Tone Arm Cable +

Nordost Heimdall 2 Tone Arm Cable +: Micro Mono-Filament design

Few links in an analogue system are as critical as the tone arm lead, which needs a dedicated, low-capacitance design to make the most of the natural reproduction of LPs. The Heimdall 2 Tone Arm Cable + combines twisted pairs, individual shielding and Micro Mono-Filament technology: the result is near-absent noise, high transmission speed and wide bandwidth.

A silver-plated bond wire, separately shielded and wrapped in Micro Mono-Filament, lowers noise from the line. In addition Nordost provides detachable ground whips, which remove residual noise with any component.

Technical features

• Conductors: four, 28 AWG each
• Material: solid-core OFC copper, 99.99999% pure, plated in silver
• FEP insulation
• Two individually shielded twisted pairs, Micro Mono-Filament, mechanically tuned lay and lengths
• Capacitance 37.5 pF/m, propagation velocity 76%, shield coverage 97%
• Bond wire and ground whips: 24 AWG stranded OFC copper, silver-plated, with Micro Mono-Filament
• Low-mass MoonGlo connectors: 5-pin DIN (straight or at 90 degrees), RCA or XLR; gold-plated 5 mm spades

Available versions

The cable is available with DIN-RCA, DIN-XLR or RCA-RCA terminations, in lengths of 1.25 m, 1.75 m, 2.25 m and 2.75 m. The DIN connector is straight; the 90-degree one is on request.
