Moving magnet cartridge with an elliptical stylus.

2M Red: the design

The 2M is Ortofon's best-known moving magnet series: the same body across the range, a high output that suits any MM phono input and a user-replaceable stylus. Moving up the range changes the diamond, and with it the detail the cartridge can read from the groove.

It carries an elliptical stylus. Output is 5.5 mV, it tracks at 1.8 g and wants a load of 47 kohms.

It can be chosen on its own or already fitted to the black SH-4 headshell, ready to plug onto the tonearm.
