CI Home H65-IW v2: drivers and fitting
The CI Home H65-IW v2 brings the 165 mm woofer of the series into the wall: compared with its smaller 139 mm sibling it goes lower (on-axis response from 70 Hz, extension to 55 Hz), offers 89 dB of room sensitivity and takes amplifiers up to 90 W, with a 60 W maximum power input. The depth it requires stays at 70 mm, while the opening grows to 257 x 180 mm. It is the natural pick for stereo listening in a living room or for the main channels of a concealed system.
The two ways meet at 2.5 kHz through a second-order filter. The tweeter dome is sheltered by the PPA lens, whose holes are laid out to act as a phase plug too: out-of-phase waves are stopped and the treble comes out more extended, more uniform and at a higher level. Ferrofluid damps it and carries heat away. Mids and bass are handled by a mineral-loaded polypropylene cone with a high-power motor and a computer-optimised ferrite magnet.
Whoever fits it will find screws in recessed seats, which stop the drill wandering, and Torx-guided clamps that avoid chewing up the screw head. The clamps are rigid ABS and, once tightened, reinforce the plasterboard around the cut, which benefits bass cleanliness. The frameless grille, micro-perforated and paintable, is held on by magnets; Paradigm sells pre-construction brackets separately for building sites.
