The CI Pro P1-LCR v2 is a two-way wall speaker for the left, centre or right channel: a 25 mm tweeter between two 139 mm woofers, in a narrow, shallow frame suited to the sides and the base of a screen.
CI Pro P1-LCR v2: the design
The P1 is the smallest of the three LCR models in the CI Pro range, which is produced in Canada. Its three drive units sit in a shallow-cabinet wall design that needs a cut of 498 x 168 mm and 98 mm of depth. The on-axis response covers 94 Hz to 22 kHz and at 30° off axis holds up to 19 kHz. With an in-room sensitivity of 92 dB it works with amplifiers of 15 to 120 W, up to 90 W at the input.
The two woofers have CARBON-X cones, chosen for stiffness at modest weight and for an even response without colouration, with long-throw motors. The ART surrounds are a Paradigm patent: produced in house and moulded onto the cone, they extend travel and with it the level attainable without distortion. In the middle, the AL-MAC tweeter of aluminium, magnesium and ceramic works behind the perforated PPA lens; RED technology softens diffraction and evens out the response. The two ways cross over at 2.2 kHz.
As on the higher CI Elite range, the Shock-Mount fixing isolates the baskets mechanically from the frame and cuts vibration and resonance between the acoustic section and everything else in the speaker. The die-cast aluminium baskets have integrated heat sinks. The crossover carries high-power resistors, capacitors and thick-wire inductors; the nickel-plated spring terminals take heavy cable or banana plugs, and the paintable micro-perforated grille is retained by neodymium magnets.
